POP3 and SMTP server names.
Most Often Asked Technical Questions
Q. I get an error when sending email saying "Server Response:
'550 relaying to <address@domain.com> prohibited by administrator'
A. This is usually because you tried to send email when not connected to Aardvaak.
Make sure you haven't connected to another ISP by mistake.
Q. I try and get my email but keep getting told that my username/password is wrong' A. This is usually because you made a spelling mistake in your username or password. Remember that your email account username is your FULL email address. Q. I want to use 128k ISDN but it only shows me connecting at 64k A. Check to see which Modem is selected by the Dial Up Connection as most ISDN Terminal Adaptors install 2 or sometimes 3. One for 64k single channel and one for 128k 2 channel (sometimes called PPP Multilink). Some also install a 3rd called BOD or Bandwidth on Demand. If the latter is selected it will only raise the second channel if the TA determines that the extra bandwidth is needed (usually during a file download rather than just web browsing). It then only shows a 64k connection even though it will call up the 2nd channel if needed. Check your TA documentation on how to setup BOD and how to configure timeouts etc. If you want to use 128k access then check out the manual that came with your Terminal Adaptor as each is different - for example if you are using a Hayes USB ISDN adaptor then you must first select Channel 0 and then click the MULTILINK tab and select Channel 1 and specify the telephone number again - use the SAME telephone number for both channels (0845 665 1872)
Q. Can I access your service using LINUX A. Assuming that you know how to setup a dialup connection manually in Linux then yes. The details you need are at the top of the lefthand column of this page. Q. How do I configure Windows manually to allow me to use Aardvaak as my ISP A. See the links to simple instructions at the top of the page, however it is far easier to install the service using the automatic configuration button at the end of the signup process.
